UK - Candidates in the United Kingdom should register for examinations through an RHS approved centre

Overseas - Candidates who are studying a theory qualification overseas are able to sit the examination overseas under exceptional supervision. Please email to request an exceptional supervision form.

Learning resources

There are a wide range of books and other learning resources published which support the studies of those learning horticulture. Learners are encouraged to seek guidance from their tutors on which resources best support their studies, or to choose the most appropriate resources for their needs from the wealth of material available.

While RHS Qualifications does not recommend or endorse any specific learning resources we can help in other ways.

Certificates - are issued within 30 working days of results being released on RHS webportal.
Examination results - examination results are released 50 working days after the examination on the RHS webportal. Candidates can find out their examination results by contacting their centre.
Exemptions - all requests for exemptions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Applications must be made to RHS Qualifications and an administration fee will be charged.
Enquiries about results – if candidates have any concerns or are disappointed with their results they should speak to their tutor or centre examinations officer in the first instance. This service will be available for 28 days following the date that the results were released. Requests received after the closing dates will not be accepted.
Special considerations (298kB pdf) - these are implemented at the time of an examination to allow attainment to be demonstrated by a candidate that has been disadvantaged by temporary illness, injury or adverse circumstances which arose at, or near, the time of examination.  Special considerations must be applied for by the approved centre where the examinations were taken. Application for reasonable adjustments or special considerations must be made by the approved centre on behalf of the candidate.
Withdrawn qualifications - only the syllabuses and past papers for these qualifications are available to download.
